Lesson 1

This study of sin, or Hamartiology, examines what the Bible teaches about sin: its origin, nature, and effects on humanity. We will explore how sin entered the world, how it separates us from God, and why all people stand in need of redemption. Key biblical terms and passages will help us understand the seriousness of sin and our inability to overcome it apart from God’s grace. Ultimately, this study highlights the holiness of God, the depth of human brokenness, and the saving work of Jesus Christ as the only answer to the problem of sin.
